You will need:

Font of your choice - I used one called Abracadabra

Tube of your choice - I will be using the artwork of DarkGoth


Filters:

Krusty FX vol.2

Mura's Meister/Copies

DSB Flux/Bright Noise

xero/porcelain

 



Ok let's begin

Open a New Image 600x250

Paste your Tube as a New Layer

Effects> Mura's Meister> Copies .... Wallpaper rotate (default settings)

Edit> Repeat Copies

 

Adjust> Blur> Radial Blur ... with the following settings

Blur Type - Twirl
Blur - strength - 15%
Blur - Twirl Degrees - 90
Elliptical - checked
Center - Horizontal Offset - 0
Center - vertical Offset - -100
Center - Protect Center - 0

Layers> Duplicate ... Image> Flip

 

Change this layers Blend Mode to "Screen"

Layers> Merge> Merge Visible

Rename this layer "Background" ... Layers> New Raster Layer

 

Effects> Krusty FX vol.2> Generator H-2 (eye) ... with the following settings

Mod A - 0
Mod B - 255
Mod C - 255
Zoom - 0
Brightness - 100
Red - 255
Green - 255
Blue - 255

Select the Selection Tool, make sure Feather is set to 0

 

 

Make a Custom Selection with the following settings

Top - 0
Right - 10
Bottom - 40
Left - 0

 

Selections> Modify> Select Color Range ... with the following settings

Tolerance - 20
Softness - 20
Add Color Range - checked
Reference Color - change to Black (#000000)

 

Hit DELETE on your Keyboard ... Selections> Select None

On your toolbar is a Tool called Lighten/Darken Brush

If you click on the tiny wee arrow next to it

Go down (or across) and select Change To Target

Set your foreground to the color you want the spikes to be

 

 

Paint over your Spikes

It doesn't always work out the right color, Sometimes you have to play with it.

Effects> Mura's Meister> Copies ... Line (default settings)

Effects> xero> Porcelain ... change Blue Channel to 0 and click ok

 

Effects> 3D Effects> Drop Shadow ... with the following settings

Vertical - 0
Horizontal - 0
Opacity - 100
Blur - 9
Color - Black

Rename this layer "flux"

 

Duplicate this layer twice (for a total of 3)

Activate the "flux" layer

Effects> dsb flux> Bright Noise ... with the following settings

Intensity - 25
Direction - Mix

Activate the "Copy of flux" layer

Effects> dsb flux> Bright Noise ... click on the Mix button once then on ok

Activate the "Copy (2) of flux" layer

Effects> dsb flux> Bright Noise ... click on the Mix button once then on ok

Hide the 2 top flux layers for now

 

Layers> New Raster Layer ... Selections> Select All

Selections> Modify> Select Selection Borders ... with the following settings

Inside
Anti Alias - checked
Border Width - 3

Flood Fill selection with a suitable color

 

Selections> Select None ... Rename this layer "Border"

Paste your Tube as a new layer ... Move to the Left side of your Tag

Rename this layer "Tube" ... Layers> Duplicate ... Image> Mirror

Activate the "Tube" layer and in the layer Palette drag it between the "Background" and "flux"

change its Blend Mode to Soft Light

 

Layers> Merge> Merge Down

Activate the "Copy of Tube" layer and in the layer Palette drag it below the "Border" layer

Apply a suitable Drop Shadow ... Add Copyrights and your Name


 


ANIMATING

Edit> Copy Special> Copy Merged

Now open Animation Shop ... Edit> Paste> As New Animation

Return to PSP hide the "flux" layer and unhide the "Copy of flux" layer

Edit> Copy Special> Copy Merged

 

Go back to Animation Shop ... Edit> Paste> After Current Frame

Return to PSP hide the "Copy of flux" layer and unhide the "Copy (2) of flux" layer

Edit> Copy Special> Copy Merged

 

Go back to Animation Shop ... Edit> Paste> After Current Frame

And that's it all that's left is to save your Tag ... If you wish to Preview it first View> Animation
